Stonehenge Capital today announced a $2.9 million investment in Elko Community Health Center, a new healthcare campus in Elko, Nevada. The investment will help fund construction of a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center and a neighboring medical office building in this rural community with a population of just over 20,000.
Elko Community Health Center will offer general surgery services and a broad range of specialty care such as cardiology, gastroenterology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management, podiatry and spine surgery. The neighboring medical office building will provide exam rooms for pre- and post-operation appointments, dedicated space for health- and wellness-related programming, and a medical imaging suite. Community Health Development Partners (CHDP), the firm developing the medical center, is partnering with local physicians to expand the availability of affordable healthcare in the area. More than 11,000 patients are anticipated to be served each year at the campus.

The working capital provided by Stonehenge is expected to create 37 new jobs and 47 construction jobs. Elko Community Health Center is Stonehenge's third Nevada New Markets Tax Credit investment this year. The new healthcare campus, scheduled to open in fall 2021, will revitalize vacant retail space in Elko’s East End Shopping Mall. A local contractor is handling construction for the project.
