Renewable Energy/Green Tax Credits
To encourage the adoption and development of renewable energy, the Federal government and an increasing number of states have adopted new tax credit incentives (or enhanced existing incentives) for the installation of renewable energy projects.

Drawing on its experience gained in placing over $1.3 billion in tax credit transactions, Stonehenge provides an attractive transaction structure to monetize and finance tax credits and other incentives generated by renewable energy projects.  Such incentives include:
  • Federal renewable energy investment tax credits;
  • State renewable energy investment tax credits;
  • Federal renewable energy grant; and
  • Renewable energy certificates (RECs), among others.
Additionally, some states (Michigan, for example) offer brownfield remediation tax credits for the environmental remediation of certain sites.  Stonehenge is an active participant in the market for Michigan brownfield tax credits and in other states that offer similar remediation tax incentives.

Specific state incentives Stonehenge monetizes includes:
  • Louisiana wind and solar tax credits
  • Florida renewable energy investment tax credits
  • North Carolina renewable energy tax credits
  • Oregon business energy tax credits
