Historic Rehabilitation Development
Dubbed as the one of the federal government’s most successful community revitalization programs, the federal government offers a tax credit for the rehabilitation of certain historic structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places (with certain exceptions).   This widely utilized and highly regarded program fosters a successful public/private partnership with billions of dollars of private investment towards the rehabilitation of thousands of historic buildings across the United States.  This incentive helps revitalize and preserve community landscapes while restoring blighted and/or abandoned buildings into commerce once again.

Many states have also enacted their own state historic rehabilitation tax credits, including:
  • Kansas historic rehabilitation tax credits
  • Louisiana historic rehabilitation tax credits
  • Massachusetts historic rehabilitation tax credits
  • Michigan historic rehabilitation tax credits and Michigan brownfield tax credits
  • Mississippi historic rehabilitation tax credits
  • Missouri historic rehabilitation tax credits
  • North Carolina historic rehabilitation tax credits and North Carolina mill tax credits
  • Oklahoma historic rehabilitation tax credits
  • Virginia historic rehabilitation tax credits
Stonehenge is a leader in monetizing state historic tax credits.  On a project by project basis, Stonehenge will also consider acting as a federal tax credit investor for projects generating federal historic tax credits.
