Whitney LaNasa

Senior Managing Director

Whitney LaNasa is Senior Managing Director and Principal of Stonehenge Capital, a specialty finance firm that provides transformational capital to communities across the country. Ms. LaNasa leads the Company that invests in projects designed to stimulate private capital investment in targeted industries and spur economic growth. She manages and directs the Company toward and sets its primary goals and objectives, leads a team of senior managers to consider major business decisions including originators, underwriting, investor relations, government relations, strategic partnerships, product expansions and mergers and acquisitions. She is the main point of contact with the board of managers for SCL and member of the Investment Committee and is accountable for performance and profitability. Ms. LaNasa joined Stonehenge Capital in 2009 as a member of the legal team and was promoted to Director of Tax Credit Services in 2014. Under her leadership, the practice flourished, and LaNasa was promoted to Managing Director in 2019 at the firm’s20th-anniversary meeting in Blufton, South Carolina. She was named Senior Managing Director in 2021. As an expert on federal and state economic development programs, LaNasa is frequently invited to speak at national conferences and participate on panels.

LaNasa has played a role in the revitalization of iconic historic buildings throughout the country. A number of Stonehenge Capital’s historic rehabilitation projects have been recognized for excellence, a testament to the Company’s leadership, diligence, and vision. In 2020, she was named 40 under 40 by the Baton Rouge Business Report and was honored to accept an invitation to join the LABI’s Emerging Leaders Council. LaNasa serves on the Board of Directors of the Historic Tax Credit Coalition, leads the Louisiana Historic Tax Credit Coalition and Louisiana Workforce Housing Coalition and is a member of Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE). Prior to joining the Company, Ms. LaNasa attended the Paul M. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University where she graduated Order of the Coif, representing the top ten percent of her class. During law school, she was able to patriciate in the European Studies at the Université Jean Moulin Lyon III, Lyon School of Law in Lyon, France. LaNasa received her bachelor’s degree in political communication from Louisiana State University in 2004. She earned a joint Juris Doctorate and diploma in Civil Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law School at LSU in 2007, and an LL. M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation from the University of Alabama in 2013.After law school, Ms. LaNasa practiced law as an attorney with Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson and Adams and Reese LLP, where she assisted clients in a wide variety of corporate, banking, and regulatory matters.
