Pizitz Builing honored at Urban Land Institue Atlanta's 25th annual Awards for Excellence

The Pizitz Building, a project financed and partly owned by Stonehenge Capital, was honored as the ULI Alabama Development of Excellence at Urban Land Institute Atlanta’s 25th Annual Awards for Excellence dinner on September 12, 2019.

After sitting vacant for nearly 30 years, the Pizitz, a former 1920s department store building in downtown Birmingham, Alabama, was restored and transformed into a mixed-use destination featuring a 13-vendor food hall, two restaurants, 143 multifamily residences, modern co-working office space and a cinema. The restoration of the 251,000-square-foot building, completed in December 2016, has been at the heart of the revitalization of downtown Birmingham.

The ULI Atlanta Awards for Excellence program recognizes outstanding real estate development projects or initiatives that exemplify ULI’s mission of providing leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities. The program identifies and promotes best practices in all types of real estate development.
